    What is "Scriball"
  • Scriball is a collaborative space, where authors can spin tales and invite others to participate in the creative process. What makes Scriball special, and different from the many other collaborative work spaces on the Internet, is that we provide users with the tools to make the stories that are created here visible to people interested in collaborating with others, potentially having others discover your tales or you as an author or paying authors for their content.
    What is an "author"
  • An "Author" is someone who originates a Story on Scriball.
    What is a "contributor"
  • A "Contributor" is someone Scriball allows to add additional material to that Author's story.
    What is a "contribution"
  • A "Contribution" is anything (ideas, text, feedback, images, videos, illustrations, etc.) a registered Scriball user posts in any Scriball workspace (either on our website or in any one of our apps).
    What is a "story"
  • A "Story" is an original work of authorship, created by a registered Scriball user.
    What is "content"
  • "Content" is a term we use to describe either a Story, a Contribution and any combination of the two.
    What is a "member"
  • A member is anyone who registers and opens a free account with Scriball.
    What is a "buyer"
  • A "Buyer" is a third party who Scriball brings to the table to purchase rights (novel, film, etc.) in a Story and all related Content.
    Who can start a story?
  • A registered member.
    Who can contribute to a story?
  • A registered member.
    Who can view a story?
  • A registered member or a visitor.
    Who can vote on a story or post?
  • A registered member or a visitor.
    Who owns the content created?
  • Scriball owns the rights to all the content but shares revenue with authors and contributors if a "buyer" is found. See the TOS for details and definition.
    How long can a Scriball be?
  • At a minimum, a Scriball will be 10 posts of 121 characters each. At the maximum a Scriball will be 50 posts of a max. of 121 characters each.
    How long can a Scriball post be?
  • A Scriball post is a maximum of 121 characters.
    How do you start a story?
  • A Member starts a story on the Start a Scriball page. This includes a title, opening line and the number of posts, topic and a mood and an option of a closing line.
    How much time do you have to contribute to a Scriball?
  • You are competing against the community for the next best line which will be voted on so the sooner you post the better your chances.
    Can I make my Scriball private for my friends only?
  • Soon!
    May I limit the number of contributions to my Scriball as an author?
  • Yes, the author has the choice to select from a minimum of 10 posts to as many as the game determines to allow in the future.
    Who can get paid for their Scriball?
  • You must be at least 18 years old in order to sell through Scriball. We can't pay you nor can you grant rights in your Stories or Contributions if you're too young. Sorry.
    If a story is sold, what does the author get?
  • The author receives 25% of the revenue derived from the sale. Please see TOS for details and definitions.
    Does a contributor share in profits if a story is sold if there are multiple contributors to the story?
  • The collective group of contributors to any story sold receive 15% that is shared proportionately based on lines contributed to the final story. Please see TOS for details and definitions.
    How do I deactivate my account?
  • To deactivate your account, please contact customerservice@scriball.com.
    What do I do if someone posts profanity to my story?
  • You will use the "Report This Scriball" button located on each story page and the Scriball team will review and decide if the post is inflammatory. If so, the post will be removed.
    Can I sign in through Facebook or Twitter?
  • Yes, you may sign in through Facebook, Twitter or create your own account using your own email.
    How do I share the stories I create?
  • You can share any Scriball via Facebook or Twitter.
    Where do I find tips on how to start a great Scriball?
  • There are Some writer's tips in The How To Play section in the Information link on the top of the Home Screen.
    How many votes does a story post need to be the winner and get posted to the story?
  • The first story post to get two votes is posted to the Scriball.
    How do I contact the Scriball team with questions?
  • Please contact customerservice@scriball.com
    How many people can post to a Scriball at the same time?
  • Many people can participate in a Scriball if the author invites them via her network or allows public access through the Scriball community. Only a number of people's posts will appear because the posts that appear are voted on by the community involved in the Scriball.

    Can I upload a picture of myself to my profile picture?
  • Yes!

    How can I change my user name?
  • Go to your profile page.
    Can I chat with people while writing a Scriball?
  • Yes, you need to be a registered user. To chat, all you need to do is click on the profile of the registered user you are writing with.
